Robert “Bob” K. Griffith

FENNIMORE – Robert “Bob” K. Griffith, age 93, passed away on Thursday August 21, 2025, at Grant Regional Hospital in Lancaster. Bob was born on November 22, 1931, the son of Walter and Evelyn (Frontz) Griffith. He married Helen Bellis on March 28, 1956, at the Fennimore United Methodist Church. They shared 66 years of marriage before Helen’s passing in 2022.

Bob was born and raised in Southwest Wisconsin and graduated from Platteville Highschool in 1949. He continued his education at UW Platteville where he earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education. After graduating from UW Platteville, Bob enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1953 to 1955, achieving the rank of Corporal.

Bob devoted his life to farming, first working in Mount Hope for three years before moving and farming in Lancaster for two years. He and Helen eventually purchased their farm outside of Fennimore in 1961, where he lived until his passing. His love for the land and commitment to agriculture remained central throughout his life.

A devoted community member, Bob was an active member of the American Legion for 55 years and served as Commander for the Fennimore Post for 11 years. Bob also taught High School Agriculture from 1955 to 1957, before he began his lifelong journey in farming.

Bob is survived by his son, Paul Griffith; two granddaughters; four great granddaughters; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, parents; sister Anna Mae Nickel; and brother Dale Griffith.
