MONTFORT – David “Dave” J. Fuerstenberg, age 78, passed away on Saturday July 5, 2025, at Dove Healthcare in Fennimore. He was born on January 25, 1947, the son of Joseph and Wilma (Reuter) Fuerstenberg.
Dave graduated from Fennimore High School in 1966 and on April 22, 1967, he married the love of his life, Patricia “Patty” Holzer. Dave was a long-time member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort and helped with many school events over the years.
Dave was a hardworking farmer who still found time to enjoy fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He had a great sense of humor and loved to play practical jokes on his friends and family, who eventually came to love and look forward to his pranks.
Dave is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patty Fuerstenberg; five children: Henry (Connie) Fuerstenberg, Peggy (Bob) Webb, Charlie (Jill) Fuerstenberg, Cindy (Dan) Peters, and Diane (Brian) Beels; 14 grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. He is further survived by five brothers: John, Joe, Randy, Paul, and Keith; and three sisters: Mary, Linda, and Shirley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Robert and Gregory Fuerstenberg; grandson, Cohen Fuerstenberg; and three sisters: Connie, Patricia, and Theresa.
