Marie E. Vincent

LANCASTER – Marie Ellen (Richgels) Vincent, age 79, passed away on Wednesday April 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at Orchard Manor in Lancaster. Marie was born on February 16, 1945; the daughter of Leonard and Helen (Wanezek) Richgels. She attended and graduated from Lancaster High school in 1963. Marie was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Vincent, on April 3, 1964. They recently celebrated 60 years of happy marriage. For a couple short years, Marie worked at Traine Co in La Crosse and then the Grant County Abstract Office. Marie left her job to travel with Jim while he was in the Navy. Marie and Jim eventually settled into their home in Lancaster, where they raised their four children.

In 1968, Marie and Jim started Vincent Plumbing & Heating, which eventually transformed into Vincent Excavating. In addition to her work at their business, Marie also enjoyed her time as treasurer for the town of South Lancaster. Marie enjoyed crocheting and reading. She looked forward to spending time up north and treasured her time spent with family.

Marie is survived by her husband, Jim; children: Matthew (Sheila) Vincent, Emily (Leonard) Klaas, and Suellyn (Joe) Reuter; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren (soon to be eight); and brothers: Robert (Anita) Richgels, Norbert (Vicki) Richgels, and Felix (Kris) Richgels. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Audrey Brown; grandson, Dalton Brown; twin brothers, Gerald and Joseph; and parents in-law, DeLoss and Florence Vincent.
