FENNIMORE-Jack D. Davidson, age 85, passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 5, 2024, at his residence in Fennimore. He was born on December 31, 1938, in Beulah, North Dakota, the son of Steven and Rena (Cone) Davidson. He was united in marriage to Barbara Iverson on July 5, 1962.
Following his graduating from high school, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he met the love of his life, Barbara. After their marriage they moved out West. During this time Jack worked for the Army Corps of Engineers. He was very proud of this experience and talked fondly about it. They then returned to the Fennimore area where Jack worked for Rossing Construction until they began farming. They farmed in rural Fennimore for many years until moving to town, where Jack was employed at Rayovac until his retirement.
Jack loved playing softball, games, horseshoes, and bowling. Jack also enjoyed dancing, fishing, going out to eat and an occasional gambling trip. He was a “Mr. Fix It” or as we said, just a “Jack” of all trades. His biggest joy in life was family.
Jack is survived by his three children: Julie (Bill) Kean of Madison, Scott (Rhonda) Davidson of Mifflin, and April (Bryon) Green of Monticello; six grandchildren: Anthony Sennhenn, Alex Sennhenn (fiancé Rashad Eid), Nikki (Brian) Rathbun, Olivia Doyle, Jade (fiancé Devin Blumer) Green, Jessee Scheidegger; great grandchildren: Xavier Sennhenn (Sable), Kaylee Billiot (Bradley), and Max Freitheim; three brothers: Lynn (Carol) Davidson, Tom Davidson, and Tim (Gena) Davidson; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Brimmer and Toni Andress; and brother-in-law Roger Iverson. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. The family would also like to acknowledge his friend JoAnna Cox Blau.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Barbara on March 17, 2021.
