Mary J. Nuenthel

THIS IS AN OBITUARY THAT IS BEING LISTED ON OUR WEBPAGE AS A COURTESY. THE BUTZIN-MARCHANT FUNERAL HOME IN RIPON IS ASSISTING THE FAMILY.

Mary J. Nuenthel transitioned to her role as an angel surrounded with love, in her favorite place, Florida.

Mary grew up in the carnival business, working with her mom and dad to run SJ Peoples Show. In her adult years, she took over the family business and has been running the show, working closely with her son, Christopher and soulmate,  Kevin, who will now carry on the thriving family business that has been in operation for over 50 years. Mary previously taught skiing and snowboarding in the winter time, but more recently left her winter months free to do what she loved. Mary worked hard, and played harder. She loved being at her house in Ruskin, Florida, snowmobiling, going pheasant hunting in South Dakota, and above all else,  spending time with her two granddaughters, Aiko and Aspen. A description of Mary from nearly everyone that knew her  is that “she is the strongest woman I’ve ever met” and there is no statement more true. Mary was strong in everything she did, both physically and in the roles she played. She was a strong mother who taught her children all the things she loved; the carnival, skiing, snowboarding, and hunting, which allowed them to make amazing memories.

Mary is survived by her soulmate, Kevin Riemenapp; her devastated children, Christopher (Krista Hill) Malzhan and Cass (Michael) Kuehn; beloved granddaughters, Aiko and Aspen Kuehn; her mother, Suzanne Peoples; and brother, Michael (April) Nuenthel. Mary is further survived by her step-children, Austin (Misty), Kelvin (Jessie), Preston (Jacque), and Alex Riemenapp; and 13 step-grandchildren. Mary leaves behind her most faithful companion, her dog, Bailey.

Mary will be welcomed to heaven with open arms by her father, Frank Peoples; her cousins, Bobby and Jake Simonson; her nephew, Mikey Nuenthel; and her in-laws, Ben and Donna Jean Riemenapp.

A visitation to honor Mary will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971, and again from 9:00 - 11:00 am on Monday, February 26, 2024 also at the funeral home.

A funeral service for Mary will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Rev. Don Ehlers officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. A memorial is being established in Mary’s name.
