Mary Lou Hughey

Mary Lou HugheyFennimore, WI- Mary Lou Hughey, age 76 of Lancaster formerly of Fennimore died on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster, WI surrounded by her loving family. Mary Lou was born on Nov. 21, 1936 in Salem, IN the daughter of Robert & Helen (Colglazier) Wright. She was united in marriage to Philip Hughey on June 3, 1961 in Franklin, IN.

Mary Lou graduated from Franklin High School and then in 1958, received her Registered Nursing degree from St. Anthony’s in Louisville, KY. Mary Lou went to work throughout the area until moving to Fennimore in 1971. She continued working as a registered nurse in Boscobel, Fennimore, and Lancaster until retiring after 39 years. Mary Lou enjoyed reading a good news article, going shopping, gardening, canning, and watching the History and Sci-Fi channels on her television. Mary Lou was very active with Alcohol Anonymous, and the Kentucky Colonels. Her willingness to put others before herself will be deeply remembered.

Mary Lou is survived by her 3 children; Virginia Hughey of Lake City, MN, Thomas (Carol) Hughey of Lancaster, WI James (Rhonda) Hughey of Stitzer, WI five grandchildren and a brother Richard Wright of Greensburg, IN.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, husband Philip on Jan. 11, 1995 and a sister Virginia Lee Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday Aug. 5, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Father Miguel Galvez will be officiating.
