Platteville – Rose Marie Brechler Dalen, age 64 of Platteville and formerly of Fennimore passed away on Tuesday morning April 9th, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. Rose was born on June 26, 1948 in Platteville, WI the daughter of Claude and Ruth (Kuehle) Richter.
Rose attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School and Platteville High School. After high school she married DuWayne Brechler on Feb. 13, 1971 in Platteville, WI. Rose worked at the Cobb Canning Factory and owned and operated Brechler Group Home in Fennimore with her husband for 15 years. She also obtained her CNA license and worked at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in the capacity of CNA and laundry for many years. Rose then semi-retired and applied her Dietary Management Degree while owning and operating the Gazebo Bed and Breakfast in Fennimore. She then worked at Lands End, where she made many friends until having to retire due to her health. Rose was known for her laugh, smile, kindness and just fun times. She enjoyed country music concerts, antiques, gardening, and spoiling the grandchildren with bubblegum.
Twelve years after DuWayne’s passing, Rose met and later married Francis Dalen on May 12, 2012. Together they have shared many good memories.
Rose is survived by her husband Francis of Platteville, son Eric (Shelia) Brechler of Muscoda, daughters; Christy (Steve) Cooley and Carrie (Michael) Tysver both of Fennimore, five grandchildren, two sisters; Dorothy (Karl) Legler of Sauk City, and Kathy (Lester) Frenz of The Villages, FL, a brother Doug (Linda) Richter of Arena, brother-in-laws; Fred (Jill) Brechler of Fennimore and Delbert (Gloria) Brechler of Kingman, AZ, sister-in-law Barbara Busher of Lancaster, extended son Danny Haskamp, and many special nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband DuWayne Brechler, an infant sister, sister-in-laws; Janet (Donald) Hertrampf and Ima (Ralph) Levarud, and a brother-in-law Lenny Busher.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday April 13, 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore with burial for follow in the Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. on Friday evening April 12, 2013 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Saturday morning.
