MCFARLAND – Betty J. Hirsch, age 96, left this world on Wednesday December 17, 2025. Betty was born at home in rural Fennimore on July 27, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Agnes (Olson) Everson. She attended Castle Rock Grade School and Montfort High School, graduating in 1947. Following graduation, she was employed by a local business in Fennimore. On July 7, 1952, Betty was united in marriage to Wilbur “Bill” Hirsch at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They enjoyed 56 years together before his passing in 2008. Peggy was born on March 28, 1954, in Boscobel, WI to Gaylord Deaver Welch and Evelyn Eleanor (Cohen) Welch Johnsrud. She graduated from Fennimore High School in 1972. Cobb formerly of Highland, WI-Virgil M. Tomas, age 84, passed away on Sunday morning December 7, 2025, at his residence in Cobb. He was born on November 22, 1941, in Dodgeville the son of George and Catherine (Berg) Tomas. Virgil married Karen Day on December 8, 1962, and welcomed two daughters. In 1972, Virgil and Karen decided to go their separate ways. Virgil graduated from Highland High School in 1960. Mount Hope, WI – Debra (Deb) Wehrle age 74 of Mount Hope passed away on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Deb, the daughter of Paul Myers and Nancy Biddick, was born October 24th, 1951. She was united in marriage to Gregory Loren Wehrle on December 23rd, 1972, at the Livingston Methodist church. Deb grew up spending what time she could with Grandma Babe (Anita) at the telephone switch office and Grandpa Oop (Loyal) at Alley Oop’s bar in Livingston.
