CASSVILLE – Carolyn “Carrie” Jean Hochhausen, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 29, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 27, 1945, in Prairie du Chien; the daughter of Lawrence and Bertha (Hendrichs) Mergen. She grew up on the family farm in Bloomington where she enjoyed riding horses and showing her cows at various county fairs. Janet Mae Paulson, age 67, of Prairie du Chien, WI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 25, 2023. She was born on May 10, 1956, in Prairie du Chien; the daughter of Francis and Elise (Panka) Downing. Janet resided most of her life in Prairie du Chien. In her younger years, she moved to Wisconsin Dells where she was employed in housekeeping. She later returned to Prairie du Chien and continued cleaning at various hotels. Audrey Rose (Allen) Freymiller, age 91, Woodman, WI passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Divine Rehabilitation & Nursing in Fennimore. She was born on May 30, 1932; the daughter of Ora and Margaret (Stluka) Allen. Audrey grew up on her family farm in Eastman and after graduating from Prairie du Chien High School, she moved to Boscobel. After high school, Audrey worked in the dental office for a short time. Maria Royo Rood, age 59, of Fennimore went to be with her heavenly family on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. She was born in Davao City, Philippines on June 15, 1964; the daughter of Miguel and Lourdes Royo. Maria graduated from Manuel L. Quezon University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce major in accounting. She was employed fulltime at Truvant in Boscobel, for 22 years and part time at Tower Junction in Montfort. Jeffrey “Jeff” W. McFall, age 55, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at home. He was born on October 22, 1967, the son of Ray and Sherry (McFall) Stewart. Jeff moved from California to Iowa in the mid 90’s and called Dubuque his second home. Jeff had a passion for music. He loved to play guitar and sing. Jeff enjoyed karaoke and even ran his own karaoke business for a short time. In addition to his love for music, Jeff also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
