Janet Mae Paulson, age 67, of Prairie du Chien, WI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 25, 2023. She was born on May 10, 1956, in Prairie du Chien; the daughter of Francis and Elise (Panka) Downing.
Janet resided most of her life in Prairie du Chien. In her younger years, she moved to Wisconsin Dells where she was employed in housekeeping. She later returned to Prairie du Chien and continued cleaning at various hotels. Janet was free spirited and loved the outdoors and being out in nature. She enjoyed growing flowers, riding horses and adored her family.
Janet is survived by her four children; Kathryn Brown, Dennis Balaban, Heidi (George) Buss, and Kerrianne Paulson, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, her mother Elise Downing, along with her siblings; Sally (Leroy) Anderson, Bruce (Patty) Downing, Joe Downing, and Marlene Byers and their families.
Janet was preceded in death by her father Francis Downing, a beloved grandson, son-in-law Mark Brown and sister-in-law Brenda Downing.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
