Aubrey L. Blackburn
Aubrey L. Blackburn, age 96, of Fennimore passed away on Thursday April 27, 2023, at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Fennimore. He was born on July 11, 1926, in Fennimore the son of Jesse and Grace (Brookens) Blackburn. Aubrey was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Monroe on June 28, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Aubrey grew up working on the family farm near Mt. Hope. As a youth he would try to slip away to the Bloomington Bridge where he caught bullfrogs and sold them to the local restaurant that offered frog legs on the menu. […]
