LeRoy W. Friederick, age 71, of Fennimore, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 1, 1949, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Ralph and Florence Friederick. LeRoy graduated from Fennimore High School in 1968. He was drafted into the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 and was stationed in Germany. He was a carpenter by trade. He owned and operated his carpentry business, Mt. Hope Siding and Construction. Donald E. Winkers, age 90, of Montfort, WI passed away on Sunday November 1, 2020 at the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Services in Fennimore. He was born on January 27, 1930 at home in Eden Township Iowa County, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Vavricka on July 8, 1950 at the Montfort United Methodist Church. Donald attended Montfort Grade School and graduated from Montfort High School in 1948. He hauled milk for the Sunnyside Cheese Factory and helped make cheese for several years. Elaine A. Nelson, age 81, of Madison and formerly of Fennimore, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon November 1 2020, at her residence in Madison surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on June 2, 1939 in Fennimore the daughter of Vern and Gertrude (Karasek) Eisele. Elaine graduated from Fennimore High School with the class of 1957. She furthered her education at U.W. Platteville, and received a Bachelor degree in Education in 1968. Elaine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Nelson on February 27, 1960. Lavon Marie Bollant, age 81, of Fennimore, passed away on Friday October 30, 2020, at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Fennimore. She was born on October 26, 1939 in Boscobel the daughter of Hubert and Daisey (Howell) Collins. Lavon graduated from Fennimore High School with the class of 1957. Lavon was united in marriage Gerald Bollant on October 6, 1959 at the St. Lawrence O’toole Catholic Church in Mt. Hope WI. Together they farmed the family farm in rural Montfort.
