LeRoy W. Friederick

LeRoy W. Friederick, age 71, of Fennimore, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 1, 1949, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Ralph and Florence Friederick.

LeRoy graduated from Fennimore High School in 1968. He was drafted into the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 and was stationed in Germany. He was a carpenter by trade. He owned and operated his carpentry business, Mt. Hope Siding and Construction. LeRoy always loved a good euchre game, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

LeRoy is survived by his five children; Dale (Melissa) Hackett of Lancaster, Scott (Sara) Hackett of Sun Prairie, Paula (Paul) Bender of Fennimore, Lonnie (Amber) Friederick of St. Olaf, IA, Sheri (Chris) Bell of Boscobel, 21 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, siblings; Bev (Ron) Becwar of Gays Mills, Diane Duffey of Platteville, Ron (Sandy) Friederick on Muscoda, Cindy (Bob) Lund of Fennimore, Marvin (Rita) Friederick of Lancaster, John (Julie) Friederick of Fennimore, Joan Friederick of Fennimore, Madonna (Dave) Johnston of DeWitt, IA, Bryan (Jen) Friederick of Fennimore, Karen Reynolds of Platteville, Loran (Carrie) Friederick of Fennimore, sister-in-law Sue Friederick of Fennimore along with many nieces and nephews, best friends Chris and Max Blotz and his ex-wife, but always remained a very dear friend Paulette Friederick.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Taylor Bender, brothers Dennis and Roger Friederick and his sister Mary Friederick.

A public graveside service with Military Honors will be held 1:30 P.M. on Saturday November 7, 2020, the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Fennimore. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00-1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. If attending the visitation at the funeral home, the wearing of masks is encouraged. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Grant County Cancer Coalition. Following services at the gravesite, a “Celebration of Life” will be held at the Hilltop Bar and Grill in Fennimore.
