Montfort/Cobb, WI-Sophie J. Moen, age 92, died on Friday morning July 29, 2016 at the Bloomfield Healthcare in rural Dodgeville. Sophie was born on Dec. 19, 1923 in Ardoch, ND the daughter of John & Mary (Czapiewski) Korynta. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Moen on Sept. 23, 1946 in Ardoch, ND. Nancy C. Shaw, age 80, of Fennimore/Preston, died on Thursday July 28, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. Nancy was born on May 19, 1936, in Indiana the daughter of Arthur and Gladys (Loggins) Bishop. She married Vernon Shaw on Jan. 15, 1960 in Blue Mounds, WI. Following graduation from high school in Indiana, Nancy moved to Chicago, IL and then Madison, WI where she met her husband Vernon. Shortly after being married, Nancy and Vernon moved to Preston, WI and Nancy began working for Rayovac in Fennimore. She retired after almost 30 years of dedicated service. Following

Emmeline J. Brun, age 100, of Rochester, MN entered eternal life on July 25, 2016 after a brief stay at Samaritan Bethany Rehabilitation. Emmeline has made her home at the Shorewood Senior Campus in Rochester for the last eight years. She married Gordon Brun, April 27, 1940, and the two of them farmed near Livingston, Wisconsin for over 50 years. She was born September 5, 1915 in Livingston, Wisconsin, the oldest child of six to Luetta and Mortimer Allen. Emmeline graduated from Livingston High School and then attended Madison Vocational school before returning to Southwest Wisconsin where she married Gordon.

Fennimore/Boscobel, WI-Audrey J. Karasek, age 80, died peacefully on Wednesday evening July 20, 2016 at Boscobel Care & Rehabilitation. She was born on June 18, 1936, in the Cobb area, the daughter of Ed and Mary Laufenberg. She was united in marriage to Cletus Karasek on Sept. 10, 1955. They worked very hard and made their living farming together on 50 acres just outside of Fennimore and together raised three children. Audrey was a very social person and enjoyed spending time with friends over coffee, euchre games, and selling Avon. She also loved all sports and thoroughly loved watching games

Margaret E. “Peg” Lynch, age 85, of Montfort, died on Friday, July 15, 2016, at her residence in Montfort surrounded by her family.  Margaret was born on Jan. 14, 1931, in Montfort, the daughter of Christopher and Lottie (Ferris) Frankland.  She married James Lynch on Feb. 5, 1949 in Mineral Point. Margaret lived in Montfort all her life except for two short years spent in Mineral Point when her and James were first married. As a young women Margaret worked as a telephone operator and was the matron at the swimming pool.  For the majority of her working career she
