Trudie L. Freymiller

Trudie Lynn Freymiller, age 71, of Fennimore, WI passed away on Tuesday June 22, 2021 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. She was born on June 21, 1950 in Lancaster the daughter of Robert and Marianne (Gehrke) Brechler. Trudie was united in marriage to Dennis Freymiller on June 20, 1970 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore.

Trudie graduated from Fennimore High School in 1968. She attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa until transferring to U.W. Platteville and studying to become a Librarian. After her marriage to Dennis, they farmed together for 31 years, mostly in Hickory Grove Township. She also was employed at the Southwest Library System, and Brechler Insurance until following her dream. Trudie became the Librarian for the Dwight Parker Library in Fennimore from 1987 until retiring in 2018. She was passionate about what the library had to offer and was a friendly face that welcomed everyone. She deeply adored the relationships with the patrons and was recognized for her dedication in 2018 by receiving the Fennimore Chamber Citizen of the year award. Trudie was an active member at the Fennimore United Methodist Church and was the choir director for several local churches. She also taught piano lessons, and also accompanied many musicians for area church services, weddings ceremonies and funeral services. Trudie also loved to play cards with family and the card club gang along with sitting down and reading a good book. She also enjoyed going on “Grandma Trips” such as Branson, Myrtle Beach, and Naples. Trudie’s selflessness along with her dedication to her husband and family, church and her community will be forever remembered.   

Trudie is survived by her two children; Darci (Sean) Rice of Elgin, Minnesota and Michael (Kimberly) Freymiller of Fennimore, three grandchildren; Noah and Taylor Rice and Brennen Freymiller, mother Marianne Zarek of Naples, FL, two sisters; Sarah (Dennis) Lendosky of Fennimore, and Marci (Ken) Nichols of Wisconsin Dells, and sister and brother-in-laws; Daniel Davies of Fennimore, Gary (Mary Lou) Olson of Merrillan, and Vicki (Gary) Northouse of Fennimore along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Trudie was preceded death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Dennis on December 7, 2020, father Robert Brechler, father and mother-in-law Myron and Arlene Freymiller, two sister-in-laws; Sandra Davies and Candice Olson and her mother’s husband Eugene Zarek.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday June 28, 2021 at the Fennimore United Methodist Church in Fennimore with burial to follow at the German Ideal Cemetery in Hickory Grove Township. Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 P.M. on Sunday June 27, 2021 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Monday morning. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given in memory to the Dennis and Trudie Scholarship Foundation that has been set up in their loving memory.
