Timothy R. Trankle

Timothy Roger Trankle, age 56, of Potosi formerly of Montfort passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his beloved family, on Sunday afternoon Oct. 29, 2017 at U.W. Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 26, 1961 in Platteville the son of Roger and Jill (Johnston) Trankle.

Graduating from Iowa-Grant High School in 1979, Tim was employed at Harvestore Silo Company of Dodgeville as a welder until getting involved with the family farm. He then took and interest in learning and becoming an over the road truck driver. However, because of health issue, Tim then enrolled at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore and received his LPN Degree in 1995. He worked at the Lancaster Care Center and later did in home care for several years. Getting the opportunity to settle back in the area, Tim owned and operated TNT Bait and Tackle at Blackhawk Lake until having to retire due to declining health. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved spending time with his family and his dog. Tim’s fondest memory was spending precious time with family at Blackhawk Lake. He was an active member of the NRA and a past member of the Montfort Rescue Squad.

Tim is survived by his four children; Twin Girls, Rachel (Steve) Jaeb of Cottage Grove, and Jessica (Jacob) Benish of Windsor, Theresa Trankle (Chuck Seaks) of Union Grove, Tom (Megan) Trankle of El Roy, two step; children Melissa (Rob) Kerkenbush of Potosi, Jessica Ann Hartwig of Madison, seven grandchildren and four step grandchildren, parents Roger and Jill Trankle of Monroe, and his sister Traci Schultz (Hans Wöhlbier) of Monroe.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents; Quinton and Qwetholyn Johnston, Vera and William Trankle and special aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Sunday afternoon Nov. 5, 2017 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with a private family memorial service to follow. Burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Timothy R. Trankle.
