Thomas “Bull” P. Gleason, age 71, of Fennimore passed away surrounded by his family on Friday November 8, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. He was born on January 19, 1948 in Dodgeville the son of Ambrose and Eleanor (Wilkins) Gleason. Tom was united in marriage to Mary Howell on September 15, 1973 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore.
Tom graduated from Fennimore High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served from 1966, serving in Vietnam, Japan, and Korea, until being honorable discharged in 1970. Returning home, Tom went to work driving semi for Kowalski-Kieler of Fennimore and could be reached on his CB handle as “Bullwinkle”. He later became the corporation’s mechanic, working over 30 years, and retiring in 2013. Tom was a simple man who deeply adored his family, especially the time shared together at their cabin, boating, family trips to Florida, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. His wonderful nature and passion for his family and friends will be forever cherished.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Mary, son Tommy (Beth) Gleason both all of Fennimore and his awesome grandchildren Alli and Gavin, four siblings; Patty Prochaska of Prairie du Chien, Bob (Betty) Gleason of Dodgeville, Kathy (Curt) Freymiller, Rita (Mike) Ferrie both of Fennimore, and brother-in-law Michael Coudray of Belleville along with several special nieces, nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jennifer, twin granddaughters Morgan and Shelby, and sister Mary Coudray.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with Military Honors. The will be a celebration of life to follow at BD’S Eagles Nest. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday November 12, 2019 at the Larson Family Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday morning.
