Theodore J. “Ted” Griswold, age 93 of Livingston, Wisconsin passed away on April 23, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison. The son of Theodore E. and Delphia Griswold, he was born on August 4, 1920 in the township of Clifton. He married Dolores Beerkircher in 1941 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s College of Agriculture in 1942. He was a renowned cattleman, livestock breeder and steward of the land. He leaves behind a legacy of community service, having served as the first president of the Iowa-Grant school district as well as a candidate for Wisconsin State Senate.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dolores of Livingston; his children Joe (Elaine) Griswold of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Linda Griswold of Madison, Kathy Griswold of Madison, Patrick (Jane) Griswold of Dallas, Texas and Mary Griswold of Livingston. In addition, he is survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren as well as a special nephew Chris (Kim) Kupper of McAllen, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Janet White and brother Azel Griswold as well as a grand-daughter, Regina Gargano.
Visitation will be held on May 10, 2014 from 12-3pm at Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with a service for family and friends at 3pm. Burial to follow at Rock Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up in his name to support the Montfort Rescue Squad (505 South Wall Street, Montfort, Wisconsin, 53569)
