Theodore J. “Joe” Griswold Jr, age 76, of Stillwater, OK and Miami, OK, passed away on January 15th, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
The son of Ted and Dolores Griswold, Joe was born on June 18th, 1942, on the family farm in Livingston, WI. He married his first crush and one true love, Elaine Hill, on January 19th, 1963.
He was an Oklahoma State University graduate, with a degree in Animal Science, and a respected farmer and cattleman. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His heart and his door were always open, and there was always room for one more at his table. He loved nature, good food, his country, family, and friends. A true pioneer, Joe embraced change. He leaves a legacy of dreams, ambition, persistence, perseverance, and love.
Joe is survived by his wife, Elaine, of the home, his 5 sons John (Jeannie) Griswold of Stillwater, OK, Greg (Dee) Griswold of Stillwater, OK, Garfield (Angie) Griswold of Perkins, OK, Joseph (Lori) Griswold of Miami, OK, David (Melia) Griswold of Miami, OK, and his daughter Melanie (Rob) Kimbrough of Miami, OK. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Maggie, Garrett, Jack, Clayton, Alexis, Macy, Colton, Chloe, Rhett, Halle, Madalyn, and Presley. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda Griswold, Kathy Griswold, Pat (Jane) Griswold, and Mary Griswold. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26th, 2019, from 9:30 am to 11am at United Methodist Church in Livingston, WI with a service for family and friends at 11am. Burial will follow at Rock Church Cemetery rural Livingston, WI. There will also be a gathering this summer for family and friends at Joe's residence to be announced at a later date.
