FENNIMORE – Suzanne “Sue” M. Watters, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday November 28, 2024, at Grant Regional Hospital in Lancaster. She was born in Panama City, FL on September 10, 1953; the daughter of Robert and Gale (Matthews) Sisley. Sue married Daniel Watters on July 20, 1979, in South Carolina. They recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Sue graduated from Lancaster High School in 1971 and then attended the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Madison, completing the program in 1974. She began her passionate career as a nurse at Grant Regional Hospital in Lancaster. Sue worked all throughout Grant County and the state of Wisconsin, making her mark as a compassionate and caring nurse. She forged many lasting friendships and touched the lives of so many patients with her kindness and warmth. She retired after many wonderful years as a nurse, from Agrace Hospice in Madison, due to her declining health.
Sue was a loving and nurturing mother who treasured her time spent with her grandchildren. She always found a way to share her love with them. Although Sue’s great passion was nursing, her passion extended beyond her career. She found joy in fishing, camping, and knitting. Each Christmas, her loved ones were gifted with a pair of her hand knitted slippers. Sue loved to dance, read, and cook.
