Fennimore, WI-Ruby Mae Jones, age 82, of Fennimore died on Friday evening March 22, 2013 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore. Ruby was born on Oct. 25, 1930 in Mt Ida Township Grant Co., WI the daughter of Ralph V. & Mae E. (Graham) Jones. She attended Roger Hollow one room rural school until going to the Fennimore High School and graduated in the class of 1948. She attended Madison Business College for six months.
Ruby worked over thirteen years doing bookwork, waiting on customers, and answering phones for Novinska Implement. She then worked for H&N Plumbing & Heating doing bookwork for over thirteen years.
Ruby enjoyed traveling with her parents to see relatives in WI, ND, MI, IL and Canada along with visiting places of interest. She was a member of the Rising Sun and Dairyland Boosters 4-H Club. She entered projects of poultry, cattle, gardening, flowers, home furnishings, carving, and sweet potatoes at the Fennimore 4-H & FFA Fair. She was the first person of the community to be honored as Fair Citizen of the Year. Ruby was a member of the Fennimore United Methodist Church where she held numerous church positions. She also served many appointed offices and committees with Victoria Rebekah Lodge #190 which she joined on March 13, 1953.
Ruby is survived by her nephew Paul (Grace) Jones of Verona, and nieces; Eleanor Jones of Montfort, and Karen (Jim) Dittmar of Elizabeth, IL.
Ruby was preceded in death by her father Ralph on May 14, 1970, mother Mae on Aug.1, 1984, a brother Gordon Jones on May 25, 1970, sister-in-law Shirley Mueller Jones on July 11, 1994, paternal grandparents Rufus and Esther Borah Jones, maternal grandparents Charles and Emma Mathews Graham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday March 27, 2013 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Rev. Duane Andrus of the Fennimore United Methodist Church will be officiating. Friends may call from 4-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening at the Larson Family Funeral Home where a Rebekah service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friends may also call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday morning.
