Ruby H. Novinski, age 93, of Lancaster and formerly of Fennimore, died on Sunday morning Sept. 18, 2016, at Orchard Manor in Lancaster. Ruby was born on Feb. 19, 1923 in Wingville Township, Grant Co., WI the daughter of Albert Sr. and Marie (Henry) Molzolf. She married Cletus F. Novinski on Feb. 1, 1950 in Dubuque, IA.
Ruby attended rural county school and then worked at Robertson Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide. After moving to Fennimore, Ruby worked for Parker Pen, the telephone company, and waitressed. She retired from Loud Speaker Component after suffering from a heart attack. During retirement, Ruby enjoyed volunteering at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ebenezer Cemetery Association, Women’s Relief Corps and Royal Neighbors. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and teaching her granddaughters how to make all of her delicious Christmas goodies.
Ruby is survived by her three children; Patricia Collins of Menomonee Falls, Betty (Terry) Schwantes of Bloomington and Harold Novinski of Linden, five grandchildren; Lisa (Greg) McGuire, Billie Jo (Vincent) Walmer, Doug Schwantes, Cindy (Eric) Irish and Jeff (Mary) Hirsch, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, sisters Emma Ford and June Schafer both of Dodgeville, brother-in-law Vernon Olrick of McFarland, sister-in-law Naomi Novinski of Tucson, AZ and many nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cletus, infant daughter Mary, daughter-in-law Donna Novinski, brothers; Edwin (Mary) Molzolf, Robert (Shirley) Molzolf and Albert Jr. Molzolf, sister Eldean (Donald) Popp, sister-in-law Josephine Olrick and brothers-in-law; Norbert Novinski, Joseph Schafer and Wayne Ford.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday Sept. 22, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at St. Mary Church Hall.
