Rosalie H. Pierce, age 78 of Fennimore died on Saturday morning July 14, 2012 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore, WI. Rosalie was born on Sept. 14, 1933 in Butternut, WI the daughter of John Lowe and Margaret (Drott) Graham. She was united in marriage to Merlyn Dean Ashman in 1952 and then married Charles Pierce on Dec. 29, 1963.
Rosalie and her husband purchased her family farm in 1968, where they farmed until 2000. She was also a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Lancaster Care Center for 17 years until retiring in 1996. Rosalie enjoyed animals, gardening, sewing, making apple butter, and canning pickles. She was a very caring and giving person who wore her heart on her shoulder and was the best friend to all her children. Rosalie adored her family and will be greatly missed by all.
Rosalie is survived by her five children; Monica McCartney of Stitzer, John Ashman of California, Charles Ashman of Minnesota, Robin Gerhards of Platteville, Scott (Annette) Pierce of Fennimore, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister MaryLou Hubler of Biggsville, IL, and a son-in-law, Jim Gerhards of Cuba City.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Merlyn Dean Ashman, second husband Charles Pierce in 2003, a daughter Renee Pierce in 1987, two sons Ray Graham in 2008 and Dennis Ashman in 2011 and a brother Val “Buddy” Beechy
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial in the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Pastor Charles Miller will be officiating. Friends may call from 5-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday July 17, 2012 at the Larson Family Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Fennimore Rescue Squad in loving memory of Rosalie H. Pierce.
