Verona, WI formerly of Cassville, WI - Robert J. Kane “Bob” age 92 of Verona, died peacefully on Sunday morning March 24, 2024, at Four Winds Manor in Verona. Bob was born on September 15, 1931, in Lancaster, WI the son of Daniel and Elva (Wamsley) Kane. He was raised in rural Potosi, attended Saint Nazianz Seminary for two years, graduated from Cassville High School, served four years in the US Air Force, and farmed five years on the family farm. He was married to Dorothy (Hochhausen) on September 13, 1951. Bob served as Cassville Postmaster for 27 years. After retirement, he loved working at Al and Tillie‘s Bar and Vogt’s Feed Service. He was a gifted musician, playing accordion as a soloist and with bands and trios. He enjoyed playing tennis, ping-pong, and playing cards. He will always be remembered as an avid sports fan, especially his beloved Cubs and cheering on the Packers and Badgers. His wonderful stories and Irish humor will be sorely missed. He taught us by his example of hard work and strong faith.
Bob is survived by his two daughters, Brenda (Owen) Harried of Madison and Sheila “Tillie” (Ronald “Al”) Vogt of Verona, and his son, Michael (Julie) Kane of Mount Horeb; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Don Kane; sister, Joan (Dave) Henkel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Elva Kane, Stepmother Marie Kane, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Bob Durley.

Visitation
There will be no visitation prior to Mass.
Funeral Services
A public Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Cassville, Wisconsin.
Burial Services
A private family inurnment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Cassville with Military Honors.
