Rita Ann Whitish, age 57, of Lancaster, WI passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 5, 2022, at her residence in Lancaster. She was born on November 16, 1964, in Lancaster the daughter of Robert “Joe” and Janis (Laugeson) Turner. Rita was united in marriage to Ronald Whitish on February 4, 1987, in Lancaster. With this uniting, they were blessed with two boys and later chose to go their separate ways.
Rita graduated from Lancaster High School in 1983. Following high school, she joined the family business, Turner Ford in Lancaster. Rita was employed there several years until the business took on new ownership. Rita became a homemaker while her boys were young until going to work for the University of Wisconsin Platteville as a custodian until retiring in 2016. She enjoyed raising her family, fishing, golfing, traveling, along with spending time with her family and friends.
Rita is survived by her two sons; Travis (Abby) Whitish of Platteville, and Tyler (Danielle) Whitish of Lancaster, two grandchildren; Remi and Blake Whitish along with her brother Richard Turner of Lancaster.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents Joe Turner and Janis Laugeson.
Private Graveside Service
A private graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Dieter officiating.
Celebration of Life
A “Celebration of Life” in loving memory of Rita will be held from 10:30-1:30 P.M. on Saturday October 1, 2022, at the Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster with food and fellowship.
The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore is assisting the family.
