Richard Duane Rowe

Richard RoweMontfort- Richard Duane Rowe, age 84, died on Monday Oct. 27, 2014 at his residence in rural Montfort.  Richard was born on July 13, 1930 in Wingville Twsp., Grant Co., WI the son of Carlton and Helen (Steil) Rowe.  He married Lorraine Carole Wymore on April 22, 1950 at the Montfort United Methodist Church.

After being married, Duane and Carole moved to Cuba City. Duane worked in the foundry at John Deere in Dubuque until retiring in the early 1980’s.  Duane and Carole then moved back to Montfort where they built a house on the family farm.  He cherished the time spent making memories on the farm with his family and admired the beautiful trees and wildlife around his home. During the winter months, Duane enjoyed the warm weather of Arizona for the past 30 years. Duane also enjoyed his afternoon visits to Tower Junction, watching the Packers and Badgers, and playing a quiet game of solitaire.

Duane is survived by his four children; Kenneth Rowe of Mesa, AZ, Diane Matthews  of Mesa, AZ, Dana (Ron) Lightcap of Hazel Green, and Karen Clark of Hazel Green, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, sister Audrey Loy of Livingston, and brother-in-laws; Wayne Wymore of Mesa, AZ, and Keith (Janet) Wymore of Shullsburg.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carole on Sept. 13, 1994, brother Bobby Rowe, and brother-in-law Donald Loy.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday Nov. 1, 2014 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with burial to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery.  Pastor Peter Berg of the Montfort United Methodist Church will be officiating.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning.
