Raymond G. Kirschbaum, age 91, of Woodman, WI passed away on Friday December 11, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Ray was born on June 2, 1929 to Mike and Goldie (Jones) Kirschbaum in Cassville at his grandfather’s farm, which is part of Nelson Dewey State Park now. He attended school, which is now Stonefield, in Cassville.
Ray had worked for farmers around Bloomington until he went home after his father’s stroke to run the family farm and support the rest of the family. He was united in marriage to Mary Sabin on May 25, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. One son was born Tiger Ray and they moved to the present farm in Marion Township on December 1, 1975. Ray enjoyed farming and always waited for the next spring to come.
Ray is survived by his wife Mary of 46 years, his son Ray of Woodman, and granddaughter Skyler, his two brothers; Doran (Tracy) Kirschbaum of Prairie du Chien, Michael (Janice) Kirschbaum of Lancaster, his two sisters; Agnes Rush of Cassville, and Eva Kirschbaum of Elkader, IA, brother-in-law John Sabin of Bristol, and his nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Mike and Goldie Kirschbaum, Father and mother-in-law Charles and Hazel Sabin, two brothers; Cletus and Duane Kirschbaum and his brother-in-law John Rush.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday December 21, 2020 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery in Mt. Ida, WI. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday morning. The wearing of facemasks will be required if planning on attending services here at the funeral home.
