Phyllis A. Leeser, age 73, of Fennimore passed away surrounded by her beloved family on Saturday February 1, 2020 at her residence in Fennimore. She was born on May 26, 1946 in Lancaster the daughter of Carol and Myra (Wilcox) Edgington. She was united in marriage to Karl Leeser.
Phyllis attended High School in Potosi and then went to work in Lancaster. She worked at the A&W Restaurant in Lancaster and the Lancaster Care Center for numerous years. Phyllis became a full time employee for Land’s End in Dodgeville for 28 years and later worked at Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster until her retirement at age 62. Always willing to lend a helpful hand, Phyllis also helped out at Dutch Hollow Campground in La Valle. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family on the pontoon, houseboat weekends, camping, horseback riding and loved playing cards. She was very supportive of her children and grandchildren and cherished all the family time shared together.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Karl of Fennimore, four boys; Dewey (Diana) Leeser of Fennimore, Donnie (Lisa) Leeser of La Valle, Dennis (Sherry) Leeser of Dubuque, IA, Dustin (Tina) Leeser of Benton, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren with one on the way, brother Everett (Joan) Edgington of Preston, sister Dolores Moneypenny of Altoona, along with several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, son Dale Leeser, two brothers; Paul and Norman Edgington, and two sisters; Stella Lutzow and Sharon Bishop, along with six stepsiblings.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday February 15, 2020 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial of the cremated remains to be held at a later date in the St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Potosi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning. Following the Memorial Service here at the funeral home, the family invites everyone for food and fellowship at BD’s Eagle’s Nest. In lieu of plants and flowers a memorial fund has been established in her memory at the Community First Bank in Fennimore. The family would like to thank the Grant County Hospice for all of their support during this difficult time.
