Patricia “Pat” J. Vesperman, age 83, of Montfort, WI passed away on Monday morning November 18, 2019 at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on June 8, 1936 in Dodgeville the daughter of Palmer and Virginia (Bowden) Alexander. Pat was united in marriage to Clinton Vesperman on December 19, 1953 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.
Pat graduated from Montfort High School and she and Clint began their lives together. They continued the family store, Bowden & Alexander in Montfort, which has been in the family for over 110 years. Pat did all the secretary duties along with being the friendly face as you entered. She was still working occasionally as of July of this year. Pat and Clint liked spending time at the cabin in Prairie du Chien, and wintering in Florida for the past 20 years. She loved her home in rural Montfort where she was able to raise her horses, cats, and dogs. Pat enjoyed square dancing, music, and reading to the residents of assisted living. Pat will be remembered for her dedication to her family, the family business, and her faith.
Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Clinton of Montfort, four children; Steven Vesperman of Montfort, Lynelle (Steve) Lund of Dousman, Sharon (Curt) Weittenhiller of Estevan, Saskatchewan, Pamela (Michael O’Quinn) Olson of Houston, TX, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday November 23, 2019 at the Blue River Valley Church in rural Muscoda with burial to follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday November 22, 2019 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday morning. Immediately following the burial at the cemetery, a lunch and time of fellowship will be held at the Cottonwood Supper Club in Fennimore.
