Orville G. “Jerry” Hill, age 77, of Boscobel passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning September 28, 2019 at the Gunderson Boscobel Area Hospital. He was born on June 2, 1942 in Boscobel the son of Orville J. “Bunker” and Geneva B. (Schneidewind) Hill. Jerry was united in marriage to Donna Kincannon on June 15, 1968 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel.
Jerry graduated in the class of 1960 from Boscobel High School. He enrolled at the Southwest Technical College in Fennimore and received his degree in Supervisor Management. He was employed at Advance Transformer for over 20 years until his retirement. Always wanting to stay busy, Jerry worked for Bohlman Drug making deliveries for several years along with driving bus for the Boscobel School District. Jerry enjoyed training and riding horses, hunting, playing cards, and his daily coffee with the crew at Unique Cafe. Most of all, Jerry adored his family and loved spending time with his children and their families. He was their biggest fan in sports and was very proud of their achievements in life. He took great pride in never missing any of their activities. Jerry led by example and taught his family to do things right the first time, and always put others needs before his own. He was a dedicated member of the Immaculate Catholic Church and proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Jerry’s wonderful compassion for his family and friends and dedication to all he did, will be forever cherished.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife Donna of Boscobel, three sons; Bryan (Amy) Hill of Richland Center, Jason (Shelly) Hill of Boscobel, and Russell (Mariah) Hill of Spring Green, three grandchildren; Jenna, Cayla Hill and Sofie French, sister Marlene Ziemer of Mt. Sterling, aunt June Yanna of Muscoda, brother and sister-in-laws; William Walker and Robert (Ann) Walker both of Kenosha and his special nieces and nephews along with dear friends Ron and Mary Jane Knoble and their extended family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two brother-in-laws; Bill Ziemer and Noel Edwards, nephew Michael Edwards, sister-in-law Phyllis Walker and his father and mother-in-law Carl and Fern Kincannon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday Oct. 2, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel with burial to follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Hickory Grove Township Grant County, WI. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday October 1, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel where a Parish Rosary will be said at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday afternoon. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church on Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Jerry Hill.
