Nanette H. Thompson

Nanette H. Thompson, age 65, of Fennimore passed away unexpectedly on Monday July 29, 2019 at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on January 19, 1954 in Platteville the daughter of John B. and Helen (Loy) Thompson.

Nanette grew up in Colorado until moving to Oklahoma. She graduated from Altus High School in Altus, OK and then received her bachelor’s degree from Southwest Oklahoma State University. Nanette continued her education receiving her master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin Platteville and Garrett-Evangelical Seminary. She was employed at CESA before moving to Chicago. She worked at the United Methodist Church Board of Pension in Chicago for many years before moving back to Wisconsin to be closer to family. Nanette went to work for Land’s End in the accounts receivable department until retiring in January of 2019. She loved to read and spending time with family, especially her niece and nephew, and the family pets. Nanette enjoyed having conversations with family and friends and was looking forward to her trip with family overseas. Nanette’s loving spirit will live on with her decision to be a tissue donor.

Nanette is survived by her brother Matthew (Chong) Thompson of Atlanta, GA, sister Jennifer (Craig) Symons of Decorah, IA, niece Kathleen (Danny) Menear of Atlanta, GA, nephew Dr. Evan Symons of Omaha, NE, and her great niece Charlotte Menear of Atlanta, GA.

Nanette was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday September 21, 2019 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery rural Livingston, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning.
