Marilyn M. Winkers

MONTFORT - Marilyn M. Winkers, age 92, passed away on Tuesday evening November 26, 2024, cozy at Sienna Crest Memory Care in Mineral Point, WI. She was born on May 30, 1932, at home in Wingville Township in Grant County, WI. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Winkers on July 8, 1950, at the Montfort United Methodist Church.

Marilyn attended Oak Grove School and then graduated from Montfort High School as Valedictorian in 1950. Together, she and Don took on the responsibility of farming and she was a farmer’s wife and homemaker for 42 wonderful years. And as we know, beside every man is a woman to help share responsibilities in making things work. That was Marilyn; having two children and helping with the farm chores kept her busy at home. But her passion was her pony Dust, who added to her love of animals. Marilyn enjoyed dancing and spending time with close friends. They had a love for pets, especially their Bostin Terrier, Buff. When Don went to milk, there was always a warm spot on the foot of the bed for Buffy.

Marilyn is survived by her two children, Richard (Corrine) Winkers and Vicky (Larry) DeBuhr; three grandchildren: Donald (Jamye) Winkers, Chris DeBuhr, and Brian (Sandy) DeBuhr; and nine great grandchildren: Faith, Nolen and Kaydince, Tristan, Devilan, and Huddsan Winkers, and Allison, Evan, and Colton DeBuhr. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; a brother, Edward Vavricka; and grandson, Robert Winkers.
