HIGHLAND – Marilyn Jane Richter, age 78, passed away on Sunday July 13, 2025, at Dove Healthcare in Fennimore. Marilyn was born on April 24, 1947, the daughter of Henry and Ruby (Peat) Watchorn.
Marilyn graduated from Highland Senior High and shortly after, started her journey as a stay-at-home mom. After raising her children in the Highland and Avoca areas, Marilyn began working as a personal caretaker in area group homes. She enjoyed travelling with her daughter, Kathy. Some of their most memorable trips were to Branson, Pigeon Forge, and Yellowstone. She enjoyed doing needle point work and watching The Waltons, CSI, and Law and Order.
Marilyn is survived by her three children: Peggy (Jason) Willemarck, Kathy (Gary) Aide, and Patrick Richter; two grandchildren, Dillin (Lyvia) Aide and Jordon (Deidre Perry) Aide; and two great grandchildren, Warren and James Aide. She is further survived by her siblings: Barbara (Chuck) Weist, Paul Watchorn, Lori (Lloyd) Hatch, and Linda (Clint) Weier and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Fred (Charlotte) Watchorn; sister Sharon (Max) Wepken; sister in-law, Patricia Watchorn; and niece and nephew, Chuck Weist Jr. and Brenda Taylor.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dove Healthcare and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care over the last few months.
