Fennimore - Linda W. Watchorn, age 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday morning February 11, 2024, at Lancaster Health Services in Lancaster, WI. She was born on October 16, 1940, in Liberty Township Grant County, WI; the daughter of Paul and Emma (Gates) Hampton. Linda was united in marriage to Larry Watchorn on May 20, 1978, at the Stitzer United Methodist Church in Stitzer, WI.
Linda graduated from Bloomington High School and later attended Southwest Technical College in Fennimore. She was employed at the Lancaster Memorial Hospital for 20 years as a Ward Clerk until retiring in 1988. Linda decided to work at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society for a few years until working part time for the Fennimore School District in the kitchen. Linda was a giver and loved being there for others. She liked making cookies for the various Fennimore athletes, which Larry handed out on bus trips. Linda adored her husband and family and loved going for fish on Fridays, car rides, and deeply appreciated her many special friends through the years.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband Larry Watchorn, three children; Sherrilyn (John) Schurman, Juanita Caley, and Tim (Dawn) Wenzel; three grandchildren: Kevin (Stephanie) Wenzel, Amy Wenzel, and Jonathon (Michelle) Kane; two great grandchildren, Kennedy Wenzel and Valek Kane; two brothers, Kristopher (Faye) Hampton and Paul “Mick” (Jeanne) Hampton. She is further survived by her three stepchildren: Larry Watchorn Jr., Rick Alan (Laura) Watchorn, Jerry Lee (Elaine) Watchorn: two step grandchildren, Tyler (DeAnne) Watchorn and Whitney Watchorn; and five step great grandchildren: Rayne Watchorn, Kayleigh Watchorn, Eli Watchorn, Kris Watchorn, and Darius Watchorn.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Bob Caley; and sister, Judy Karle.
Honoring the request of Linda, there will be no formal services held in her memory. Linda will be laid to rest, with a private family committal service, in the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore.
