Linda Kay (Zart) Peters, age 69, of Madison, WI died on Wednesday February 2, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born on February 7, 1952, in Lancaster the daughter of Frank L. and June E. (Wolf) Zart. Throughout her younger years, Linda resided in Potosi, Stitzer, Rewey, and Mineral Point. She graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1971.
Linda was employed at the Iowa-Grant School from 1971 until 1975. In 1975, Linda moved to Madison and lived with her aunt Eva (Zart) Fish for a few years. Linda was united in marriage to John Peters on July 6, 1991. She was employed at Rennebohms on the square in Madison and then McDonalds for 27 years until her retirement in 2018. She and John were active members at the Point of Grace Community Church in Madison and committed to doing her daily devotions. She will be remembered for her love of crafts, latch work, cross stich, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and was a big WWE wrestling fan. Being the oldest child, Linda was very dedicated to her family and was the second mother to her siblings. She will be deeply missed by all.
Linda is survived by her husband John Peters of Madison, eight sisters; Barbara Wahl of Searsboro, IA, Carol (Steve) Yoose of Lancaster, Betty Zart of Dodgeville, Debra Weber (Charles Bonjour) of Monroe, Jill Bemis of Mineral Point, Lori (William) Bowman of Reedsburg, Julie (Mark) McGuire of Highland, Sally Williams of Platteville, and two brothers; Jack (Donna) Zart of Platteville, and Mark Zart of Dodgeville along with many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lisa Zart, brother-in-law Harold “Harry” Williams, and a nephew Ben Bowman.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday February 12, 2022, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial of cremated remains to be at a later date in the Liberty Ridge Cemetery in Liberty Township Grant County, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning.
