Lillian L. Gilbertson

Lillian LuVerne Gilbertson, age 92, of Fennimore, WI passed away on Friday December 9, 2022, at Divine Nursing & Rehabilitation in Fennimore, with family by her side. She passed away thirty years after her husband Glen, who died on December 6, 1992. Lillian was born October 15, 1930, to Kernal and Alma (Olson) Anderson.  She had nine siblings.

Lillian met her future husband Glen Gilbertson in Fargo, ND while he was driving for Greyhound Bus, and she was in Cosmetology school.  They were married in Crookston, MN on July 6, 1951.  Glen and Lillian settled in Fennimore in 1954 and raised 4 children.

Lillian took pride in being a homemaker. After raising her children, she worked at Eisele’s Grocery Store, Dwight T. Parker Public Library, was an Avon representative for 20 years and together with her husband Glen, delivered meals on wheels. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing the accordion, lawn care, lefsa making, dancing, and baking.  She was a very good baker and cook.  Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Lillian enjoyed the residents and staff at The Good Samaritan Society which is now named Divine & Rehabilitation & Nursing. Her family is grateful for the care and love she received there along with Agrace Hospice in her final days.

Lillian is survived by her children: Debra (Clyde) Olson, John (Veda) Gilbertson, Jerry (Bonnie) Gilbertson, daughter-in-law Gloria Gilbertson, sisters: Julie (Marvin) Bauske, Phyllis (David) Thompson, as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen and son Greg.

Memorials may be made to Divine Nursing & Rehabilitation or St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore in her loving memory.
