Larry E. Mook, age 60, of Fennimore, WI passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2020 at the Riverdale Healthcare Center in Muscoda. He was born on April 30, 1960 in Lancaster the son of Roland and Joyce (Ohlert) Mook. Larry was united in marriage to Mary Rider on October 26, 1985 at the Congregational Church in Boscobel.
Larry graduated from Fennimore High School in 1978, where he was very active with the FFA. He was passionate about farming, taking over the family farm where he ran his dairy and hog operations. Larry retired in 2010 but still remained a farmer at heart. He was also the Assessor for Mount Ida Township for numerous years. Larry loved his John Deere tractors and looked forward to receiving his copy of Green Magazine and 2-cylinder magazine, which he was sure to read cover to cover. In his younger years, he was a member of the Bridgeport Pullers competing in numerous competitions throughout the area. He also enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, bowling, and participating in the Black Powder shoots. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and was a giant teddy bear that loved to tease. His gentle soul will be deeply missed.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Mary Mook of Fennimore, two sisters; Lois Mook and Ellen (Ron) Horner both of Fennimore, sister and brother-in-laws; Connie Silvers of Prairie du Chien, Jerry (Connie) Rider of Dodgeville, Diane (Dave) Hines of Boscobel, Evelyn Rider of Madison, Randy Rider of Highland, along with many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Darrell and Douglas Mook, sister Christine Riley, brother-in law Mark Riley, sister-in-law Joyce Pease, and his father and mother-in-law Lawrence and Ellen Rider.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday morning July 27, 2020 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery in Mt. Ida, WI. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Sunday July 26, 2020 at the Larson Family Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday morning.
