John Robert Hoffman, age 71, of Lancaster, WI passed away on Tuesday December 21, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, IA. He was born on October 22, 1950, in Lancaster, WI the son of Carl J. and H. Margery (Brady) Hoffman.
John attended elementary school at St. Clement and then graduated from Lancaster High School in 1968. John continued his education and was in the first class to graduate from the Fennimore Vocational School.
John served his country in Vietnam, coming home in 1971. Then he worked for David’s Lumber Company in Potosi, WI. On September 7, 1972, he married Vicki Belscamper. After they married, they moved to a home in Mt. Ida Township. He started to work at Rayovac in Fennimore for 35 years retiring at the age of 62. John loved hunting and fishing along with spending time with his favorite grandson.
John is survived by his wife Vicki of Lancaster, son Michael (Jen Thur) Hoffman of Dodgeville, daughter Melanie (Steve Bowen) Hoffman of Lancaster, grandson Taylor John, sister Kathryn Henely of Bellevue, NE, brother Larry (Shirley) Hoffman of Lancaster and their families along with his lifelong best friends, the Lenz family.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday December 27, 2021, at the Fennimore United Methodist Church in Fennimore, WI. Immediately following the funeral service at the church, the family invited everyone for food and fellowship in the church hall. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Monday morning. The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore is assisting the family.
