Boscobel, WI - Janet L. Hecker, age 81 of Boscobel died on Wednesday morning July 24, 2013 at Boscobel Care and Rehab in Boscobel. She was born on January 11, 1932 in Ellwood City, PA the daughter of Harry and Florence (Fleeger) McConnell. Janet married Wallace Hecker on Jan. 27, 1951 in Ellwood City, PA.
Janet and her family lived in the Milwaukee area before moving to Boscobel in 1972. After the death of her husband in 1979, Janet worked at Advance Transformer in Boscobel until her retirement. Janet was a very strong woman who took great pride in raising her family. She enjoyed animals, arts and crafts projects, and would never turn down a hot cup of coffee.
Janet is survived by her three sons; Donald (Carol) Hecker of Boscobel, Ryan (Elisa) Hecker of Dickeyville, and David Hecker of Fennimore, seven grandchildren, and a sister Amy Vaness of De Pere, WI.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wallace, four sisters; Marie (Clark) McLachlan and Marie’s first husband Ed Hamilton, Alice (George) Meyers, Elsie (Mike) Landman, and Helen (Bob) Kelly, all of Pennsylvania.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday July 27, 2013 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. Private burial of her cremated remains will be held at a later date in the Bethel Cemetery, Hickory Grove Township, Grant Co. A visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon.
