James Glen Roesch, age 81, of Fennimore formerly of Lancaster passed away on Saturday October 10, 2020 at his residence in Fennimore surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 9, 1939 in Lancaster the son of Glen and Leona (Holmes) Roesch.
James graduated from Lancaster High School and after graduation he went to work for American Family for three years in Madison. While there, James met and was united in marriage to Helen Maring on February 23, 1963 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. James worked for the Grant County Highway Department for 32 years primarily operating the paver and grader. James and Helen resided in Lancaster for 52 years until moving to Fennimore five years ago. James loved going for walks with Furby throughout the neighborhood and visiting with neighbors and friends. He liked going to car races throughout the area along with watching Nascar. James was a simple man that enjoyed keeping his daily journal and was always ready to play a game of cribbage and was up to the challenge of skunking his opponents.
James is survived by his beloved wife Helen of Fennimore, five children; Michael (Carrie) Roesch of Cross Plains, Thomas (Kim) Roesch of Fayetteville, AR, Sandra (Monte) Craun of Fennimore, Cory (Cheri) Roesch of Lakeville, MN, and Scott (Heather) Roesch of Oshkosh, 11 grandchildren; Jessica, Megan, Brandon, Katie, TJ, Natalie, Nichole, Logan, Amanda, Drew and Luke, and one great grandson Jaxon.
James was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Jean Joyce and Pat Chapman, and his brother John Roesch along with his special companion Furby.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M on Thursday October 15, 2020 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial of the cremated remains to follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday morning. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorial may be given to the Grant County Cancer Coalition in loving memory of James Glen Roesch. If planning on attending visitation or funeral services, the wearing of facemasks is required.
