Gerard Michael “Gerardo” Schaefer, age 27, of Platteville, WI passed away unexpectedly in mid-July 2020 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. The family is shocked and deeply saddened by his passing.
Gerard was born in Madison, WI to Dale and Tina (Rutledge) Schaefer on December 24th, 1992. Gerardo had a kind personality, great sense of humor, and a smile that would light up a room. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. He also enjoyed construction work and had a great love for animals.
Gerard is survived by his parents of Platteville, WI and his siblings: Justin (Marybeth) Schaefer of Platteville, WI; Joshua (Terra Anderson) Schaefer of Fort Atkinson, WI; Amelia (Dakota) Guerin of Platteville, WI; Veronica (Marcus) Schindler of Onalaska, WI; Anthony (Laurin Lyons) Schaefer of Ogden, IA; Dominic (Bailey Wiskus) Schaefer of Fennimore, WI. He is also survived by his 4 nieces, 3 nephews, and maternal grandmother Barbara Rutledge of Coeur d’Alene, ID.
A private graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday morning August 14, 2020 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Fennimore, WI. Father John Del Priore will be officiating.
