Geraldine L. Croft

FENNIMORE - Geraldine L. Croft, age 97, passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2025, at Southwest Health in Platteville. She was born on June 12, 1927, in Mount Hope, the daughter of Allen and Doris (Merry) Belscamper. Geraldine was united in marriage to LaVern Croft on September 14, 1950, in Lancaster.

Geraldine graduated from Lancaster High School. After her marriage to LaVern, she became active in his business, Croft’s Lime & Gravel, where she was a bookkeeper for many years. She was employed with the Fennimore School System as a lunch lady, which she thoroughly enjoyed. In her spare time, Geraldine loved the simple life, gardening, canning, knitting, refurbishing furniture, and going to the cabin in Bagley. She and LaVern liked snowmobiling, playing cards in the card club for over 30 years, bowling, and was a member of the Fennimore United Methodist Church.

Geraldine is survived by her four children: Eric Croft of Fennimore, Cheryl (David) Gehrke of Fennimore, Cathy (Tim) Miller of Fennimore, and Renee Croft of Onalaska, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, along with LaVern’s brother and sister-in-law Dallas (Helen) Croft and 10 nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband LaVern on June 9, 1999, grandson Matthew Bender, brother and his wife Robert and Virginia Belscamper, niece Becky Jo Belscamper, brother and sister-in-law Roger and Loretta Croft.

The family would like to thank the staff of Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster and Park Place Memory Care in Platteville for taking such good care of Geraldine the last few years.
