Gary Forrest Cummins, age 75, of Livingston passed away on Monday evening April 27, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 25, 1944 in Hazel Green the son of Forrest and Marjorie (Johnson) Cummins. He was united in marriage to Jean (Cushman) Johnson on October 14, 1972 at the Livingston United Methodist Church.
Gary graduated from Platteville High School and attended University of Wisconsin Platteville. He assisted his father on the family farm as well as being employed at Montgomery Ward in Platteville. Gary then started his own ventures and became the owner and operator of Town & Country Tire in Platteville. After 10 years he sold his business, returned to the farm and started his milk hauling business RC Trucking. In the early 1990’s, he ventured into RV sales, which led him to Moundview RV for several years until retiring in 2015. Gary loved to go fishing, tinker around on the farm and restore the family farmhouse. He enjoyed spending time with his family and always looked forward for their annual trip to northern Wisconsin. Gary was a great husband and amazing father who adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife Jean of Livingston, three children; Cindy (Lincoln) Glenister of Makakilo, HI, Jeff (Charlotte) Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, Kendall (Carla) Cummins of Platteville, eight grandchildren; Ben and Daniel Glenister, Amy (Glenister) Smith, Sonja (Glenister) Jaramillo, Henry and Edward Johnson, Kayla and Caden Cummins, seven great-grandchildren, and two brothers; Dennis (Laurel) Cummins of Pahrump, NV, and Ross (Carol) Cummins of Madison, WI.
His parents preceded Gary in death.
In keeping with the executive order prohibiting gatherings, a private graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday May 1, 2020 at the Rock Church Cemetery in Clifton Township rural Livingston. The Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort is assisting the family and memorials may be sent here at 203 West Grant St. Montfort, WI 53569.
