Frank J. Naeger, age 72, of Rewey, died on Monday morning June 18, 2018, at his residence in Rewey. Frank was born on May 29, 1946 in Dubuque, IA, the son of Francis and Marie (Cutler) Naeger. He married Eunice Myers on May 1, 1965 in Dubuque.
Frank and Eunice lived in Dubuque, IA for several years before building a home in Rewey in 1972. Frank worked as a diesel mechanic at Riverside Tractor and Trailer in Dubuque until retiring in 2002. He then purchased a shop in Rewey where he operated Franks Repair until 2013. Frank always had an old car in the garage to work on and looked forward to camping and fishing trips with his family. Some of his favorite destinations were Lake Arbutus near Black River Falls and Jelly Stone in Bagley. Frank was a friendly and outgoing man whose love for family will forever be cherished.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife Eunice of Rewey; two children, LaVern (DaNean) Naeger and Mindy Halverson, both of Rewey; five grandchildren, Eric (Choral) Halverson, Natasha (Steven) Hardy and Alyssa (David) Charles all of Rewey, Brandon Naeger of Dodgeville and Tanner Naeger of Platteville; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Dick (Darlene) Julson of Dubuque; sister-in-laws Sarah McVay of Rewey and Clara Rooney of Love Park, IL and brother-in-law Ralph “Sunny” (Connie) Myers of East Dubuque, IL.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, son James Naeger, son-in-law Kenneth Halverson, brother Bill Julson; sister-in-laws, Loretta Munson, Lottie Fisher, Linda Gericke and Susan Preibe and brother-in-law Gary McVay.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with burial to follow in the Blake’s Prairie Cemetery in rural Bloomington, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning.
