Frank C. Edge, age 89, of Fennimore and formerly of Mt. Ida passed away on Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012 at Boscobel Area Health Care in Boscobel, WI. Frank was born on Dec. 22, 1922 in Mt. Ida Township, Grant Co., WI the son of Joe and Effie (Waldorf) Edge. He was united in marriage to Shirley Pierce on Nov. 18, 1945 in Lancaster, WI.
Frank worked for many years at Grantland Creamery in Lancaster where he drove milk truck and assisted in cheese making. He later worked with his brothers at Edge Brothers Construction before moving to the farm in 1960. Together, Frank and Shirley operated Twin Maple Game Farm until Shirley’s passing in 1994. Caring for the animals was Frank’s passion and favorite past time. He also enjoyed deer hunting, coon hunting, fishing, and in his younger years raised and sold coonhounds.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Dolores (Dick) Roghers of Fennimore, brothers-in-law; Bob (Mary) Pierce of Livingston, Marion Pierce of Darlington, and Kenny (Charlotte) Burton of Livingston, and sisters-in-law, Doris Klein of Livingston, June (John) Gallman of Janesville, and Wilma Landon of Lancaster.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley on Apr. 3, 1994, six brothers, six sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law; Charles (Rose) Pierce, Byron Landon, and June Pierce.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday Sept. 24, 2012 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Pastor Duane Andrus of the Fennimore United Methodist Church will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday morning.
