Florence H. Plautz

Florence H. Plautz, age 100, of Fennimore passed away on Saturday morning October 26, 2019 at the Care and Rehabilitation in Boscobel. She was born on July 25, 1919 in Muscoda the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Elskamp) Neff. Florence was united in marriage to William Plautz on November 27, 1946 at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Muscoda.

Florence worked along side her husband on the farm for many years. They farmed in the Hickory Grove Township until retiring and moving to Fennimore in 1974. Florence then enrolled at the Southwest Technical College and received her Certified Nursing Assistant degree along with getting her drivers license. She was employed at Orchard Manor for numerous years until retiring in the early 1980’s. Florence enjoyed traveling on the Tri-State Tours, working in her flower garden along with gardening. She was a great cook and also liked baking, playing cards, and visiting with others. Florence had a great love to her Lord and Savior, was an inspiration to her family, and appreciated life to its fullest. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the St. Anne’s Sodality, and the Fennimore American Legion Auxiliary.

Florence is survived by her two children; Joseph Plautz of Fennimore, Barbara (Dan) Simpson of Belvidere, IL, and her granddaughter Christina (Matthew) Konecke of Huntley, IL along with several nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband William on May 29, 2012, infant son James Plautz, daughter Mary Plautz, three brothers; Arthur, Francis, and Walter Neff, and three sisters; Mary Richter, Margaret Richter, and Marcella Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M on Thursday October 31, 2019 at the St Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the St. Clement Catholic Church Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall. The Larson Family Funeral Home of Fennimore is assisting the family.
