Evelyn Dietzman, age 92, of Livingston passed away on Friday morning July 6, 2012 at Manor Care in Platteville. Evelyn was born on July 20, 1919 in Cokerville, WI the daughter of Charles and Emma (Draves) Chandler. She married Glenn Dietzman on July 21, 1945 in Dubuque IA.
Evelyn attended grade school in Cokerville before graduating from Livingston High School. Following high school, Evelyn was a home maker before going to work at Ed’s Café in Platteville. She also was employed at the Cobb canning factory during the summer months until be employed at the Burgess Battery Factory in Platteville. Evelyn adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved babysitting for children throughout the Livingston community. Evelyn liked to fish, take visits to the cabin, and go on Sunday drives with her family. She also loved crafting and quilting. Evelyn took great pride in completing all of her quilts by hand. She was a member of the Livingston United Methodist Church and the Methodist church women’s group.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter; Glenda (Fred) Holzer of Preston, grandchildren; Vertice (Mari) Holzer of Lancaster, Sheila (Dale) Linneman of Stitzer, and their children; Chandler (Megan) Linneman and their son Grayson Anthony Linneman; and Sonja, Ashton, Sydney, Weston, Shawna, and Cutler Linneman, Glenn (Gwen) Holzer of Dodgeville, Emily (Richard) Oxnem of Dodgeville, and their children; Wyatt, Morgan, and Charity Oxnem, Mikel Holzer of Livingston, and Rosie (Matthew) Voigts of Belmont and their son; Maverick Voigts.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn on March 13, 1969, and sisters; Verna (John) Hird, Veda (Burdette) Allen and a nephew; Chuck Hird.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday afternoon July 9, 2012 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery, rural Livingston, WI. Pastor Charles Miller will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. on Sunday evening July 8, 2012 and from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Monday at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort.
