Dorothy May Johnson, age 98, of Springer, New Mexico and formerly of Fennimore, Wisconsin died on Monday May 27, 2019 at the Colfax Nursing Home. Dorothy Feeney was born on May 14, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois and was united in marriage to Sverre F. Johnson “Bill” Johnson on October 12, 1940 in Chicago.
Dorothy lived in Illinois and Wisconsin many years before moving to Angel Fire, NM to be with her daughter Diane and son-in-law Pete Peterson. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her nieces and nephews, and their spouses so very much, as she loved life and the friends she made along her journey.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Diane and her husband Lloyd “Pete” Peterson along with her several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Sverre “Bill” Johnson, daughter Patricia Eddy, grandson Derek Johnson Lutz, sister Lorraine Jackson, and brother James Feeney.
A brief memorial service with sharing of memories will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday afternoon August 3, 2019 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with food and fellowship to follow at the Cottonwood Supper Club. Inurnment will be in the Stitzer Lutheran Church Cemetery in Stitzer, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
