
Dorothy Margaret France, age 97, of Platteville, formerly of Livingston, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Platteville. She was born July 31, 1925, the daughter of Tony and Alvena (Funk) Fuerstenburg.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Marvin France on May 6th, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore. They lived in Livingston where they raised their family. Dorothy worked as a cook for the Livingston Grade School for five years. She then started babysitting for children out of her home until her retirement at the age of 78. She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort. She enjoyed baking her famous chocolate donuts, crocheting baby blankets, and quilting which she started later in life. Dorothy will be missed by her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter Debra France of Livingston, one granddaughter Jennifer (Justin) Evans of Camas, WA, two great grandchildren: Charis and August Evans, brother Herbert (Lida) Fuerstenberg of Crivits, nieces, nephews, and the special loves of her life: Chuck Kite, Beth Good, Brenda Kite, and Chad Kite.
Dorothy was preceded in death by parents, husband Marvin, daughter Toni, sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Bill Tennant.
Visitation
10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Saturday January 7, 2023.
Funeral Services
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 7, 2023, at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort.
Burial Services
Burial to follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore.
