Donald F. Brahm

Woodman, WI-Donald F. Brahm, age 76 of Millville Township rural Woodman died on Thursday Aug. 9, 2012 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI. Don was born on Dec. 5, 1935 in Butler, WI the son of Elmer & Evelyn (Mader) Brahm.

Don worked on his family farm in Sussex, WI while working part time at the Sussex Canning Factory. While working around the farm, his hard work he caught the eye of Bill Galbraith who hired Don as a heavy equipment operator at Turner Sand & Gravel in Sussex.  Over the years Don became more than just an employee, he became a member of the Galbraith family. After he retired, Don moved to Bill’s property in Millville where he had fallen in love with the area. Don enjoyed the outdoors especially going hunting, fishing, cutting wood, and spending time on the WI River. He was a very hard worker that loved his Lord and adored his relationships with all the Galbraith family. He was an active member of the St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church and the Operating Engineers of WI.

Don is survived by his four siblings; Eileen (Rick) Schneider, Sheila (John) Inhoff, Frank (Suzanne) Brahm, and Elmer “Chip” (Barb) Brahm. He is further survived by his special friends and extended family; Bill (Marolyn) Galbraith, along with his family; Mary Lynne (Frank) Drahos, Bill (Kari) Galbraith, John (Vickie) Galbraith, Norine (Rick) Hanke, and Rod (Sue) Galbraith.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Kenneth Brahm.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday Aug. 18, 2012 at the St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Mount Hope Township, Grant Co., WI with burial of cremains to follow in the Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Saturday morning at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore.  In lieu of plants and flowers memorials may be given to the St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in loving memory of Donald F. Brahm.
